Mind Behind It All

Caitlyn always had a love for design and art. It all started at a young age and only grew over time.

“I can still remember counting down the days until I got to go spend time in the Texas Hill Country with my Grandma during summer vacation. We would do ALL the crafting you could imagine. Sewing, quilting, drawing, painting, making jewelry, you name it….we did it. I had always wished I could get more into crafting and designing, but life gets in the way.

Fast forward a few years and I am in college with literally NO time to do things like that. I majored in Sports Management and Minored in Marketing. Soon after graduation, I met a Navy Pilot, David, who was there in training. That funny and loving pilot from small town Idaho is now the person I get to spend every minuet of everyday with and go through this life with. He is the reason behind most of all of this, my biggest supporter and best friend. The name Juniper Point is named after him…well sort of….Juniper Point is the location in Florida (moved 3 times in our first year together) where Dave would always fly over during his training flights. He loved how it looked, and it was the spot where he asked me to spend the rest of our lives together.

Being married to someone in the military means moving ALOT…like alot ALOT. Especially when they are going through training and said training takes place in three states over a ~two year period. Moving so much the first few years together really put a damper on the whole “starting a career” things. Doesn’t really seem to help when every six-seven months for 2ish years we were packing up to move yet again.

When COVID-19 hit, and the state we currently live in was COMPLETELY shut down, I took that as a sign to finally go after something I have always wanted…giving you Juniper Point Design Co.”
